Department Overview

Art programs in the individual schools vary according to the facilities of the school, the cultural backgrounds, and the needs of the students.  Senior high school introductory and advanced courses offer broad exploratory and/or specialized experiences to meet individual interests of students.  All art courses address the AUHSD Content and Performance Standards, the State Content and Performance Standards, and the Visual and Performing Arts State Framework.  The courses are designed to encourage the development of Artistic Perception, Creative Expression, Historical and Cultural Context, Aesthetic Valuing, and Connections, Relations and Applications.  Academic skills are reinforced throughout the curriculum.  All art programs infuse exiting and emerging technology to aid in delivering the curriculum.

Los programas de arte de cada escuela varían según las instalaciones de la escuela, el bagaje cultural, y las necesidades de los alumnos.  En la preparatoria, los cursos introductorios y avanzados ofrecen amplias oportunidades de exploración y/o especializadas para cumplir con los intereses individuales de los alumnos.  Todos los cursos de arte abordan los Estándares del Contenido Temático y Rendimiento de AUHSD, los Estándares Estatales del Contenido Temático y Rendimiento, y los Principios Normativos Estatales de Instrucción para las Artes Visuales y Escénicas.  Los cursos están diseñados para fomentar el desarrollo de la Percepción Artística, Expresión Creativa, Contexto Histórico y Cultural, Apreciación Estética, y Conexiones, Relaciones y Aplicaciones.  Se refuerzan las habilidades académicas a lo largo del currículo.  Todos los programas de arte infunden tecnología interesante y emergente para ayudar en la presentación del currículo.
